To My Late Boss (Iyke)

I known Dr. Iyke for months and not even years. He was my boss for months in the ICT Unit, Federal University Oye Ekiti. We used to call him ‘Option mean Iyke ’ in my language translation, not only in the workplace, but wherever we met.

Gone before us too soon, Iyke, Boss, Daddy. Certainly, the precious memories of you will remain in our hearts. This is your time, Boss; ours will surely come. In everything, we all can say, Jesus gives and takes, blessed be his holy name.

THE CREW extends condolences to the Iyke's Family.

Boss, Oye Ekiti, EKiti State
May your memory live on, Uncle Iyke. It is indeed hard to forget your kindness and simplicity, around you life was stripped of all its ceremonies. I remember dearly the tenderness with which you handled even the severest of issues, adorning every hitch with a smile. Images of you drumming in church, teasing the brethren, hugging and advising fill my mind. I miss you, I really do but I know that you are in a better place. However, I say, may your memory live on and may God always grace this earth with more people like you. Having had our paths intersected was a rare privilege.

Treasures of eternity
Cross our timed paths.
If eternity so flashes before our eyes
Why do we then peer, strain,
To reach for the stars?
Believe me
The stars are here with us
Not fallen,
But throbbing
In the life of a golden heart
Ready to give, prepared to be denied
That others may have
And shine
With the glitters of the skies.
Iyke Ifeanacho,
You are gone
But only for a moment.
Your floodlights stay on
Brilliant oceans of rays
Guiding lives that you kindled.
Though your tail lights are upward turned
We know that their glow shines down on us
And always keeps us with the stars
Because of you.

Shine on, brother.
The galaxies announce your residency.
